Description
Evergreen is transforming Evergreen Brick Works (EBW) into a carbon neutral campus, starting with the retrofit of Building 16, the Kiln Building. With its significant kiln artifacts that produced millions of bricks to build the industrial city of the past, it serves as a powerful space for engaging in conversations that can lead to action for low carbon cities. It is also a cultural asset of local, provincial and national significance that warrants preservation and restoration and that can serve as a model for low carbon, adaptive reuse of a heritage structure.
