Description
The Town of St. Walburg is continually building understanding of asset management (AM) and implementation of good practices. The creation of a policy structure to identify AM goals with key performance indicators, strategic alignment, and a commitment to transparency is a priority. The Town will provide formal training for Council and Staff, focusing on the current documents that are key to informed decision-making. Defining the minimum Levels of Service and adapting them to the community would provide ownership.The Town will also draft policies to guide the decision-making that reflect AM principles. The policies will be based upon a roadmap that details the implementations strategy for the next Council. Communication with our community on the benefits, with specific performance measures, to monitor the asset management journey, will be established in the next step.International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has become a reliable resource. The use of standards that are accepted world-wide helps create quality products and services. The Town of St. Walburg can now identify the standards that can benefit the practices and procedures for our community.
