Description
The Rural Municipality of Elton, has as its vision "...to provide a desirable and safe community for residents and businesses by enhancing amenities, growing the population, using sustainable practices, and being fiscally responsible."The Rural Municipality of Elton, as part of their strategic planning process, identified that the RM does not create enough revenue to maintain their roads to high enough standards, and that the lagoon reached capacity. The opportunity for a commercial and residential development exists, however, there is a need to complete a water line expansion for the RM to realize the opportunity. Asset management as a process is essential for the RM of Elton to plan appropriately for future use, and to develop economically. There is a specified need for engineering support to develop a standard for road maintenance.This project will address these needs through developing infrastructure standards, creating a priority list for repairs and replacements, and creating policies, procedures, training, and orientation documents.
