Comprehensive asset management strategy

The City of Clarence-Rockland will carry out a project that will comprise the following activities:1. Establish a new Asset Management Plan that incorporates the Asset Management Strategy for all core assets, level of service and detailed capital plans to prioritize investments. Staff along with a consultant will hold multiple sessions to incorporate the following items in a new asset management plan: State of local infrastructure, Level of Service, Asset Management Strategy and a Financial Strategy.2. Training of Asset Management principles to staff to improve corporate knowledge and understanding of asset management principles. Staff will be attending external training from recognized organizations. An external consultant will also make presentations to Council in regard to asset management.The proposed project will result in a unified approach to the management of and identification of rehabilitation needs for the municipality's critical assets. All staff involved in asset management related activities will be trained on the city's approach to asset management and will be able to communicate with one another with a common understanding and knowledge base. The staff-Council workshop will complement the staff training program by ensuring that there is a common understanding and "buy-in" to the municipality’s future asset management strategies.
