Description

Alex Laidlaw Housing Co-operative (ALHC) will complete an assessment of retrofit considerations to support a 30% energy consumption reduction of a 36-unit affordable housing building in Ottawa, Ontario. The SAH Planning Grant will help ALHC assess the existing mechanical system, building envelope, renewable energy applications, as well as other cost-effective energy and water conservation opportunities. Additionally, the SAH Planning Grant will support engagement of professionals to complete a financial analysis and energy model of the current building, highlight retrofit priorities and explore the solar potential of the building. Results from this assessment will inform the renovations of the facility and help the organization access additional GMF funding for a capital project.
