Description
The Leduc and District Waste Management Authority operates a landfill site for its member municipality. The landfillaccepts about 35,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste and a similar amount of special wastes. The Authority recentlyopened a material recovery facility to screen material and divert re–usable waste from the landfill. This study will includean investigation of the ability of different types of soil cover to reduce landfill gas emissions from the surface of the landfilsite, thereby improving air quality.
