Description
The City of Waterloo wants to improve the environment by constructing rooftop gardens on buildings within the city. Thisstudy will assess the feasibility of the "green roofs" project. While there are few rooftop gardens existing in Canada andnone within the Waterloo area, they have been proven to have many environmental, economic and social benefits. Thestudy will identify buildings within Waterloo that are candidates for green roofs. Priority will be given to municipalbuildings, prominent buildings and buildings that will facilitate public viewing. The first buildings to receive the greenrooftops will serve as demonstration projects to increase awareness and public acceptance of the projects.
