Description
This feasibility study will determine the viability of collecting and flaring landfill gas from the city's W12A landfill, using it to produce green energy and thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The study will also examine the possibility ofconstructing a biofilter to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the portions of the landfill where it is not practical toextract gas. Using landfill gas from this site has the potential to generate 4.4 megawatts of green energy. The studywould include the installation of test wells and observation probes, field testing and design plans.
