Asset Management Services Next Steps

The District of Carleton North (formerly Town of Florenceville-Bristol), will establish a robust foundation to be successful in their asset management initiatives. The District will raise awareness among District staff about what asset management is and how it can help the District deliver services to the community. Following this, the District will set up a cross-functional Asset Management working group in accordance with best practice, and to best support this group to provide good governance, the District will also develop a Terms of Reference document for the working group. This will include roles, responsibilities, expectations, and obligations for members of the group and a vision for purpose of the group and expected outcomes. The District will develop a Strategic Asset Management Plan and an Asset Management Roadmap. This document will provide the Asset Management working group with a prioritized list of short-term improvement initiatives to be actioned, and guidance on the Asset Management objectives, performance measures, performance targets, principles, and roles and responsibilities for implementing Asset Management at the District. This will be the Asset Management working groups 'playbook'. It will provide direction, focus, and a tangible way to measure progress and success. The District will also complete the definition of levels of service and what this means to the District at an operational level (i.e., what does the District need to do to deliver the level of service to the community).
