Description
In 2018, 10 municipalities in Quebec (Varennes, Saint-Fulgence, Saint-Siméon, Saint-Charles, Maniwaki, MRC Pontiac, Îles-de-la Madeleine, Carleton-sur-Mer, Saint-Constant et Mercier) implemented a project that aims to reduce GHG emissions by introducing electric car-share vehicles into municipal fleets as well as establishing electric service stations. With this new system, the electric vehicles would be made available for external users in the community when they are not used by municipal employees. In addition, the electric service stations in each municipality would create a green route where electric vehicles could be charged at multiple stations and therefore travel longer distances. The project consists of acquiring ten electric vehicles (one per municipality), implementing a car-sharing management system, installing charging stations, establishing electric service stations and implementing car-sharing in the community
