Description

Clean Energy Development (CED) will partner with the Town of Milton, Milton Hydro Distribution, and Ozz Corporation (Ozz) in an Integrated Energy – Smart Home (IESH) study that will produce the design, costing and plan for the pilot deployment of 100 energy efficient single family homes in the Town of Milton. The IESH is a concept for a bundle of technologies that can be commercially deployed either en masse, or on an individual home basis, to achieve ultra-energy efficiency and distributed renewable energy. The goal of the study is to produce a home energy system package that can be replicated on a broad scale across Canada. Over 80 per cent of the entire residential energy demand can be achieved by integrating CED’s package of geo-exchange and solar-thermal systems into a seamless integrated system. This will be augmented by solar photo-voltaic and advanced smart metering technologies. It is estimated that this approach will result in a 76 per cent reduction in GHG emissions compared to a traditionally built, similar-sized home.
