Description
Transportation for disabled persons in Grande Prairie is provided by three separate entities: the Disabled TransportationSociety (DTS), the Mistahia Regional Health Authority's occupational and recreational therapy department, and theGrande Spirit Foundation. The study is a needs assessment that will support the development of transportation servicesfor persons with disabilities. It will identify strategies and a work plan to co-ordinate and improve service by eliminatingduplication through co-ordinated dispatch, maintenance, and future capital purchases. By improving co-ordination andoperations there is also an opportunity to decrease carbon dioxide emissions and fuel costs. The potential for introducinginnovative technologies to improve services and increase ridership is an essential component of the study.
