Description
The Municipality of Thames Centre proposes to use the road assessment tool StreetScan for automated road and sidewalk inventorying and condition ratings to achieve a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Sidewalk Condition Index (SCI). PCI is required for paved roads by Reg 588/17 – AMP for Municipal Infrastructure.StreetScan utilizes 3D imaging technology to measure road defects. Data is processed using machine learning, artificial intelligence and human based quality control. Software algorithms include PCI/SCI, road classification, depreciation and cost/benefit analysis to generate maintenance suggestions and repair prioritizations and allow for budgeting, planning and asset management analysis.
