Description

MetroQUEST will be adapted to the Regional Growth Strategy’s needs to build the planning infrastructure that will be used for years to come. The project will fully address life cycle analysis over a 40 year period for the areas of municipal budgets (revenue and expenditure), infrastructure costs (capital and operating) and full environmental impact of growth plans. By incorporating data that is currently available, but unusable due to the lack of planning/technology infrastucture, it will establish systems and processes for evaluating and quantifying alternative scenarios that will assist the Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) decision-making process address complex multi-disciplinary issues. Ongoing monitoring work will track the progress of indicators to ensure target success. In addition, MetroQUEST will facilitate the ongoing public dialogue needed to encourage long-range strategic thinking to integrate environmental, social and economic planning. This will optimize sustainability objectives and lead to definitive targets for reducing environmental impacts of growth in the region.
