District of Houston Asset Management Program - Phase 2

The District of Houston will take key next steps to build staff capacity and help provide information that will enable financial preparation and prioritization of capital investments. The District will:• Conduct an assessment of wastewater treatment assets to help provide clarity and context regarding capital and service delivery improvements that should be planned for as part of the sustainable operations;• Identify financial investment needs that incorporate the District's road and facility assessments into the life-cycle plans to inform capital priorities to help address the asset management funding gap;• Implement an asset information platform to enable District staff to collect and track asset condition, inspections and failures as they occur and improve information handling.This project builds off Houston’s Asset Management Phase 1 where the asset inventory was established, key information was gathered, and a plan was developed to guide investments into its assets and asset management program.The District of Houston intends to do this through the following key activities:Activity 1: Conduct a service delivery technical assessment on the District's wastewater treatment assetsActivity 2: Conduct and infrastructure funding assessment and prepare a funding strategyActivity 3: Asset information platform implementation with workflow documentation and staff training
