Description
The Mountain View County will use fallen weight deflectometer testing to determine the strength of hard surface road base. Once this is completed, the County will create surfacing strategies prioritizing remedial road work throughout the County. Testing and surfacing strategies will be performed by Amec Foster Wheeler. Preliminary Engineering & Planning has been completed to establish which County roads require testing, best time of year to conduct testing, and order in which testing will be completed. A hazard assessment and traffic accommodation strategy have been conducted. The County has already tested 2/3 of its 900 km of hard surface roads. This project will test the final 300 km of road, as well as complete a report from the information collected outlining current asset condition, and strategies to improve the road network.
