Description

As a member of Partners for Climate Protection (PCP), the City of Edmundston is committed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from municipal operations by 20 per cent by 2010, based on 1990 levels, and community emissions by 6 per cent by 2010, based on 1992 levels. This study will help the City complete the first three milestones of PCP. This will result in the completion of a Greenhouse Gas Action Plan with recommendations for corporate and community GHG emission reductions based on accurate GHG baseline data. This planning process will set the stage for the use of innovative technologies and the creation of new policies for an overall decrease in GHG emissions. Awareness on climate change issues will be encouraged through the development of a climate change website.
