Description
This project will demonstrate innovation by going beyond regulatory requirements to consider utilization options, such as,fuel for vehicles, micro-turbines and fuel cells. As well, it will identify a variety of potential markets. It is estimated that aminimum of 50 per cent increase in the capture of LFG can be achieved at the Cache Creek Landfill. Also, carbon offsetfrom power generation will result from the methane being utilized instead of flared. At the Coquitlam Landfill it is believedthat greater than a 14 times increase in the amount of landfill gas capture and utilized is achievable.
