Description

In partnership with Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM), New Dawn Enterprises Ltd (a community development corporation) will complete a feasibility study to establish the commercial viability of a wind energy industry in Cape Breton for delivering green power to local manufacturers and government services. Wind energy technology is innovative for this region considering that over 90 per cent of the province’s energy originates from coal and oil. The project includes the installation of 5MW of wind energy capacity at three sites. At 50 per cent efficiency, this project could have thepotential to offset approximately 2,000 tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) per year.
