Description
This project focuses on investment in new All Ages and Abilities (AAA) infrastructure to support increased use of low-carbon modes of transportation, specifically cycling, skateboarding and roller-blades. The goal is to make it easier for residents and visitors to choose cycling more often and to support densification in the downtown core and manage anticipated population growth. After two years of design and community consultation on the development of a 32km AAA network, the City is now in implementation phase, starting with the downtown core. Victoria's first AAA project, Pandora Avenue, was completed on-time and on-budget and was opened in May 2017. The second AAA project, Fort Street, is currently under construction and proceeding as planned.
